Department of Homeland Security - Rightwing Extremism

I have had an issue with the "Department of Homeland Security" for a long time - for the same reason I have a problem when politicians say we need new laws to deal with whatever. There already exists government agencies to deal with this mandate!

"The nearest approach to immortality on earth is a government bureau." - James F. Byrnes

But much more to the point is that immediately after the Obama administration takes over, the DHS created a report "(U//FOUO) Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment 7 April 2009" (which would have never seen the light of day if it were not leaked to the press) which takes aim at conservative individuals, labeling them as extremist. It even takes aim at returning veterans. Saying their "combat skills and experience that are attractive to rightwing extremists. DHS/I&A is concerned that rightwing extremists will attempt to recruit and radicalize returning veterans in order to boost their violent capabilities."

This document is I believe a purposeful, self-fulfilling prophecy! Just under half of the country did not vote for Obama and many of these feverishly opposed his ideas for government. (And this was before the stimulus package") This report is just one step away from declaring conservatives (and those that oppose the current administration) terrorists. This very act will cause more people to demonstrate against the current policies (like the very successful Tea Parties on 15 Aug 2009) which may lead to some scattered acts of violence which will make declaring them terrorist all the easier! ... and round and round we go. And even worse the very individuals who volunteered to protect this country, the very individuals who will feel compelled to stand up for what they feel is right and just, are targeted my this report!

What also really bothers me is the near complete lack of attention this has received in the media! Neither this report nor the Tax Day Tea Parties (which were huge! 30,000 people in some cities) were given their fair share of time. The only news channel that reported it was Fox (which is dismissed in most circles are too bias). Why is it that Fox is too bias when it does report news, but the other news outlets are not bias when the don't report news??

(copy of the report coming soon)
